It has been some while since I have done a blog post, but some things have happened over the last couple of months which I wanted to share.
In early August Phoenix Trading ceased to trade and I was suddenly faced with not being able to continue with my card business www.teresa4cards.co.uk. Now I had been doing very little with my card business in the earlier parts of this year. All I had been doing was contacting my mailing list occasionally and dealing with any orders that came in. But as soon as I was faced with the prospect of NOT being able to do it that was a different matter! Over the years of being a Phoenix Trader I had picked it up and put it down as and when I had other things going on. At certain times I worked consistently at it and generated a useful income. Now I was being told no more! But what if I needed it to fall back on again? What was I going to do instead? I need to sell the stock I have left! Lots of things ran through my mind. I thought about it for a bit and decided that first of all I would start selling the stock I had left, so I set about booking in some fairs and some customer one to ones in the run up to Christmas. I was cautious about my bookings, just booking in a few as I usually have a 4 year old in tow as well! And then I started to remember how much I enjoyed it and it hit me that was why I was feeling so strange when faced with the prospect of not being a trader anymore. I loved being a Phoenix Trader!! A couple of weeks after Phoenix closed, some news came in that the most senior trader in Phoenix was going to be starting a new greetings card business. I was filled with enthusiasm, maybe teresa4cards.co.uk would continue after all! I had to be patient as information came through bit by bit about the new business. I had already decided that I would wait and see what happened, but I joined on the first day I was able to!! I am now a partner of Flamingo Paperie! Flamingo Paperie officially launches in January. In the meantime I have plenty of stock for my fairs, and Flamingo are also producing a limited Christmas range so I don't have to worry if I run out of stock. I am feeling excited to be able to continue to develop teresa4cards.co.uk. And perhaps I am also more determined now, after a short period of thinking I wouldn't be able to do it anymore. I am sure I will be posting again soon with more details on Flamingo Paperie!
