My Money Saving Background! Hi there, I am Teresa and I was brought up in a family where we were always being told to turn the light off! Or switch this off or that off! My parents did not believe in wasting money! So I am the same now and I hear myself telling my children to turn the light off, or shut the door so it stays warm. I have been in situations in the past where money was very short and everything had to be cut back to the bare essentials only. Whilst my situation is different now, I am still careful with money and think carefully about how and where it is spent. This is still a good attitude to have as keeping an eye on your money situation means you aren't caught out by spending more than you realised. Also I plan in paying for those larger things like my son's school trip, car expenses or holidays so that I am not left short financially. |

A great tip for saving money is to make a monthly budget and stick to it! Budgeting is hard, there are often expenses you forget about and sometimes things cost more than you expect, but making a start will help you to identify where you are spending your money each month. This is a really important step as you can't work on saving money if you don't know where your money is going! I have a printable monthly budget sheet to help you get started with setting a budget. Use this to compare with your actual outgoings to see if there are places you could save money! Here is my blog post on budgeting.
